The shoulders look way too thick to be a 3 year old in my opinion. I think the buck is 4.5 If he had a better rack, he would have been dead. I’ve got two styles of deer in that area. Short ones with small racks and long ones with larger racks. Most of the short ones have that crab claw type rack. The longer ones have more of a cemetrical rack.
