So I have been fascinated by the story of Biblical creation since I heard it as a child. So much that I eventually obtained a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies from a accredited University and was a Children’s and Senior Pastor for over 7 years. After over 45 years of thought and study on Genesis Chapters 1-3 in particular, here is where I always land.

1. I just can’t logically comprehend how this world could just pop into existence like this without a Creator. No chance. This world screams of a Creator. Man and everything else had to have been created. EVERYTHING has to have first.

The rub-

2. If the above is true- then who created the Creator? The Bible says He has just always existed. So that claim violates number 1 above and again my mind has a problem because the logic isn’t there.


So, here are my thoughts.

You simply cannot believe in a Creator without FAITH in one.

Faith is believing in things that sometimes you can’t figure out logically in your head because they make no logical sense.

You absolutely cannot believe in the Bible apart from FAITH. Many parts do make logical sense but some just will not. If your gonna believe the Bible than you have to use Faith to do so. God didn’t give us all the answers, He just wants us to believe what He said simply because He said it.

I agree totally. This was not an accident.

Our brains cant comprehend His greatness. By grace, our hearts can fully love him.

This is enough for me! Faith is believing in the things we cannot understand.
Praise God. God has walked a many a mile with me. Never seen his face or heard his voice, but several I know have!

Great post Bullseye. What I’ve always said is that I don’t have to understand how God made all things work, I just have to believe that He did. And that’s having faith like you said.

Jesus said “Apart from me you can do nothing.” I firmly believe that. I know He is the reason I’m where I’m at in my life today.

I am truly amazed that 4.5 billion years later..... here we are. And I'm super pumped he didn't put us in there with the Dinosaurs myself.

Genesis 6: 1-4 what does that mean

I would say but everyone will just think I'm more crazy lol...

My faith has been proven over and over again in my life. It has saved my life, it has changed my life, it has bettered my life. So, its no longer faith, i know. Its the only thing in this qorld that makes sense to me, its the only thing that matters or has made a difference in my life. The spiritual world is all that will continue on one day. Everything else will die or burn up.

Genesis 6:1-4 pretty much says that there were some Giants hanging around... and all human wimmins were total hotties and looked like Racquel Welch and hooked up all the time with fallen angels and had some kids and God gave them 120 years to stop but we know the rest of the story. He had to flood that ass.

I've recently read a theory that "the sons of God" = Nephilim = the line of Seth... the line that would bring Christ.

Seems to work, best I can tell.

Honestly, I have no idea. There are a lot of different theories on Genesis 6:1-4 but there is just not enough info in their to know anything for sure That’s one answer, I will just have to wait for.

And if you go headlong into believing one theory and it causes contradictions or conflicts to happen with the remainder of the bible, its best tojyst leave it alone. We dont have to understand everything right now

I have accepted that there are things my earthly mind simply cannot understand, and questions that I'll just never know the answer to this side of Heaven. How God just was before creation.....where dinosaurs fit into the timeline.....what goes inside the average woman's head.........sometimes, there just isn't an answer that is comprehendible to the human mind

At some point there was NOTHING!! Not one atom, not one electron , nothing and then there was. My human mind can’t comprehend that. It’s something I’ve been praying about lately to try to really be able to appreciate the God of Creation for who He really is.
