Lived here for 18 years. The service comes, and goes. It's hit or miss. For the majority, I ain't impressed.

If you like Cajun...you have to try New Orleans Lunch Box at the corner of Holmes and Jordan Lane in the gas station. Old married Cajun couple that cooks awesome eutuffe, red beans and rice, gumbo, mud bugs. Damn they close early though.
If you want some fine country food, drive to Arab. The pharmacy in Arab has the best southern food dishes. Yes it's a real pharmacy with a diner inside. Tim's Cajun Kitchen is good too. Some of the finest Crawfish Etouffee I've ever had. A really good Muffaletta too. It is just off of 565 on Jordan Lane.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The Meteor. It is a Chinese buffet, or you go with the Mongolian option. There is a reason it has been in business for over 20 years. Their homemade wasabi and/or hot mustard will clear any sinus problems you have. Nothing fancy and I don't think they serve alcohol. They even made the national news a couple of years ago. The police were called because two people got into a fight over the last crab leg. Tim's Cajun Kitchen is the real deal for Louisiana cuisine. I enjoy Marvin's in Fayetteville if you don't want to make the drive to Huntsville.

Connors is good, but haven't been in three or four years. Ditto
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

Have you tried Filo's in Winchester? A little pricey but that drive to Huntsville ain't cheap. But if you just have to come to Huntsville
Ol Heidelberg for German Nick's or Char
Other than those I see no reason to drive to Huntsville
I'm interested in Filo's . We used to frequent Hawk's in Winchester back in the day , was the best steak for the $ you could find in these parts.

It’s a good one. Try the steak egg rolls for your appetizer.

We went with some friends to Hildegard's a few weeks ago and it was excellent German food. Great beer too. I concur with both these statements. That’s one of our regular spots when we go to Hville.

We went with some friends to Hildegard's a few weeks ago and it was excellent German food. Great beer too. Recent health department review had major issues with Hildegard. IIRC the rating was 72. That's bad. It's one block from my office but I drive 15 minutes to go to Ol Heidelberg Café if I want German for lunch.
