Southwood7 OP Booner Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 10,646 Past Ol’ man Finley’s plac...	Thursday morning my 2023 deer season came to a close! A couple of years ago my home WMA lost some land and it just happened to be where I had invested a ton of time and boot leather. 40+ OnX pins and miles and miles walked all down the drain.That broke my spirit and I didn’t hunt public much at all the last two years. I killed a couple bucks on my club but it just wasn’t the same. I really missed the “unknown” and scouting new areas. This season I got the fire back and decided to dive back in. I had some great hunts! I killed the first buck on Nov 24, next one on Dec 16 ( 2.5 year old basket 8 that I got overly excited about 😬) and this last one on Jan 18. The last buck was 3.5 and weighed 158lbs. I certainly thank the Lord for my health and ability to get out in his creation. Every day we have is a gift. I hope everybody finishes up strong, and remember…. Deer hunting is supposed to be fun. If you’re not having fun you are doing it wrong 👍🏾😁 The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4

I can't imagine the time it takes scouting and how many miles of boots on the ground that it must take to kill 3 bucks, on public ground, in Alabama, and to do it consistently like you do. Well done.
