Is there any hope of late season hunting in 50 degree rain?

Was planning on hunting hard this weekend. End of rut in Marion county with cold weather seemed amazing. Then one cabin's pipes froze then my flight into BNA got cancelled... Trip torpedoed.

Thinking of rescheduling for next weekend but the weatherman is calling for rain and 50s. Feels like that would be a lost cause.

Yea it's a double wammy for me. Have a cabin that got sort of ransacked by meth heads. Was planning to hunt this cold front during the day and work on the cabin in the evenings.

I'll push through cold working conditions for good hunting but not sure I'll work in 50 degrees and rain to then spend my day sitting in the rain. Very frustrating.

Weather doesn’t matter if rut is going.

Yea - I think Marion will be out of the rut by next weekend though, no?
Figured I would be hunting the tail end of it this weekend.

I seen a 160” deer chasing in mid February one year in Marion county. I was within 10 yards of them. Anything is possible. I know it was 160” bc the landowner killed it the next fall.

May not have been when I seen him but what it measured when the man killed him.

If you were getting some once a year, would rain and temp stop you? 😁

It sure does in the midwest. It'll shut down daytime movement. I don't know why it wouldn't here.

No way a buck is going to lay in the shade and let a doe in heat just walk by cause it’s too warm. They got a short window to get it done and does can’t suspend their heat cycle. Most people aren’t in the woods on hot and rainy days. It’s too windy has saved a bunch of bucks lives. If the time is right hunt.

Watching the Lftt thread and folks sitting at home watching bucks chasing does and working scrapes on their cameras. Lol warm and pouring rain.

It’s been all kinds of sucky weather where I’m hunting this weekend and I’ve been watching bucks chasing does everywhere for the third day now. Mid day too.

I’ve seen more bucks in daylight and deer period these past few days than I did when it was bitter cold

Made it out this weekend. Hunted in everything from 37 degrees to 70 degrees from pouring rain to fog to sunshine. Saw a boatload of does but 0 bucks unfortunately.

Used to hunt in a different county so lost all of my honey holes. Trying to learn a new WMA during a 3 day hunt in the rain and heat ain't easy!
