What weather feature is most likely to inhibit deer movement? All other conditions being favorable, which inhibits the most? Precipitation, wind, or temperature?

Id say heavy precipitation would be biggest inhibitor.

Heat because it sticks around and deer just seem to go nocturnal for me in heat.

Heavy rain puts deer down during it but they seem to move immediately after it lets up and even during lighter periods of rain during heavy rain.

Heat, they can lay in thermal cover all day and chew cud. When it’s cold they have to move

Heat or extreme cold they’re not use to. No real weather factors during rut time.

I can't decide if I want to go bad enough to deal with the cold tomorrow. So cold is the deal breaker for me but maybe not for the deer

Prolonged heat will make em go nocturnal and they'll still move little . Heavy rain and heavy winds are usually short lived.

Volcanic Eruption and subsequent lava flows. Ruins the whole day.

I've notice blustery wind is no good. My blustery I mean that crazy wind blows from the left, then the right, in your face then at your back. Usually gusty. That was Friday for me. I never see crap on those days.

There's a game camera study that was done in Alabama - they talk about it on the Southern Outdoorsman podcast. Showed that basically 40 degrees at daybreak warming to mid 50s high is ideal deer movement weather (in mid-north AL). Big drop in movement as you move below freezing or above 65ish.

Any drastic change will shut em down a day or two. They still have to eat, drink and sleep. Where/ when this takes place is the key.
