You have to constantly support it with your hand or firearm. Turn it lose for a second and it’s on the ground. You're only as good as your worst shot-

I use a bipod like that as rear support when shooting off the death grip Keep your booger hooker off the bang switch.

You could use it to sight in a rifle though, it's that steady.
