Ridge Life OP 14 point R Joined: Mar 2018 Posts: 9,610 Northwest Bama	Gonna go down to my preachers wood shop in a couple weeks. We gonna make a day of some wood working on his lathes and machines. Plan on making several strikers out of various types of wood.. I know from my experiences that there are many of combinations, but what types of wood do y’all fancy, as your striker?

Hevishot13 14 point Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 7,842 North Alabama	Hickory, Purple Heart, dymondwood, black locust, snake wood, frogwood, persimmon, bocote, and I really like heavy hickory with a carbon tip. None of these in any particular order. I’ll think of a few more probably.

crenshawco Booner Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 12,913 Montgomery / Luverne	Dymondwood is probably the most versatile on any surface. I especially like it on aluminum. Black locust or purple heart on slate. Mac ebony or tulipwood on glass. Those are my go to's anyway
