5. One across the street and 2 doors down. I live on a very busy road, so that's as good as miles away. But we never let our girl in the front yard or driveway regardless. I was more worried about what was behind me. There are 4 in the neighborhood behind me, very large neighborhood, surprised there weren't more. I live on top of a mountain and have privacy fences on multiple sides, so not too worried about them either.

I wish that list gave details on if victims were Children or Adults and how old the offenders where when they committed the crime. I'd not be too worried about an 18 year old that messed around with a 16yo and the parents prosecuted. But the rest I kinda want to know to be more aware.

If it makes you feel any better Jefferson County doesn’t have enough people working in their sex offender unit to keep track of them all..

There's one a few miles from me that was 18. Girlfriend was 15. He did 12 years.

There’s one on that list near me that is a very similar situation. It was completely consensual at the time. Frankly, I’m not ok with that situation being lumped in with someone raping a small child or distributing kiddie porn.

Crazy thing about sex offender status though, I had a couple of coworkers several years ago that were in a strip joint when it was raided. There were a couple of 17 year old dancers on stage. Coworkers were arrested and ultimately had to register. The company we worked for didn't do anything as they new the situation. Fast forward a few years and we were bought out by a much larger company. Those two were released due to sex offender status and lost $150k+ a year jobs. Be careful where you hang out.

Then there is the female teachers that have sex with a kid under 16 and do not get put on the sex offender list just because they have beauty queen looks.

Got one less than a mile down the road from me. Bunch of kids live by me as well. He is a new one because I have checked before.

Yeah, but if their address was put online every horny boy in the area would be in her driveway hoping she would come out.

The ones around me all just say 9999 - OTHER CRIME. What does that mean? It happened in another state or something?
