If you were to move to another state for whitetail would Kansas be considered? I like the location being that it is center of country and the deer hunting is good. Also short distance to elk country.

Heck yea. Kansas is a hunters paradise. Deer are huge, corn is legal, great turkey hunting and a health population of quail and pheasant.

Yes. Because even though they are a one buck state you can buy OTC tags for OK or MO and keep hunting.

I agree. Reckon why their quail population hasn't hurt like ours has? *Sorry for the spinoff question.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Habitat would be the biggest factor

yes, I would defiantly consider playing carryon your wayward son if that's what you mean.

I am more of a Nebraska person than kansas. I liked kansas in the late 90s but it has fallen since then. But Id pick Idaho for everything.

Just for deer - Iowa. Unless things have changed. I think Jim Ward (whitetail academy guy) picked Iowa specifically for a reason. It’s been a minute since I’ve spoken with Jim - but I believe he had figured out how to kill 3 bucks as an Iowa resident. I forget the details and maybe it was just two bucks - but I remember he did a lot of research and picked Iowa for a reason.

Problem with living in Kansas is after deer season, you’re in Kansas. It’s hot and dusty and WINDY.

When I was there you could harvest two bucks. I did the urban deer hunt and could earn a buck tag. That’s a way to get 3

10-4. I want to say he talked about COE land along river bottoms as some sort of bonus deal as well.

They have made several changes since I’ve lived there. The NE corner is slam full of deer. Looks like north ga and the deer actually have places to hide.
