It takes quite a while for a deer to get to 198lbs around here There’s your answer. I killed a deer a few years ago that weighed 196lbs. It was 5yo, maybe 6yo. I had a pretty good picture record of it. I know it was atleast 5yo. My uncle showed its jawbone to a wildlife biologist, he said it was 3yo. They always age young around here for some reason. Had that happen a couple times. But it takes some birthdays for a deer to get fat or a rack with really good mass around here, thats not precise at all but its a pretty good rule of thumb
