I'm pretty sure you have to display it, and I also think that requires the driver to have a B-CDL. I'm not 100% sure on either of those. We have ours on magnets for the doors, and it also says "Not For Hire."
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

You should have your signs on the truck that state. Operated by abc supplies with your dot number Don’t hire anyone that calls you, they haven’t got a clue what you need to be compliant Now to operate any commercial vehicle that crosses state lines you are considered a motor carrier, you need a drug testing consortium, dot supervisor training, maintenance plan in writing even if it just says that Ryder is responsible and notifies you when scheduled maintenance is required based on their maintenance schedule If you travel over 100 air miles from home for more than 30% of your driving or business you’ll need elogs and if not you’ll need a logbook anytime you do travel outside that 100 miles Issue your drivers a dot handbook and make them sign for it
Most of this won’t come into play until you get audited and you will, especially if your truck is involved in an accident that requires 1 or more vehicles to be towed from the scene or requires medical treatment Then if you’re not prepared, it’s gonna be expensive

What’s the GVWR of the Ryder? 10,001-26,000 lbs? Over 26,000lbs? If over, it’s all of the above and more. If it isn’t over, then it isn’t as complicated, especially if you limit yourself to one of the air mile set of rules. It’s still a written program to setup including training, inspection reports, medical cards, backup logbooks (just in case the driver can’t abide by the air mile rules), driver files, and more but no CDLs and no random drug testing.. Written documentation is a must to pass audit. For example, the air mile rules puts limits on a drivers “on duty hours” to stay with the exemption. How could you show an auditor that driver was good to make that run on that day? You need evidence of the driver’s hours. We created a form that the drivers fill out each week. A driver’s timesheet. Its only purpose is documenting when they were on the job the previous seven days. Get a handbook and start reading. You don’t likely need one of the billion cold callers to help. We aren’t over 26,000 and operate under the 150 air mile exemption at all times. It’s manageable and a necessary evil for us. Funny thing is, our commercial vehicle usually gets driven under 5,000 miles a year and it’s old enough to not require elogs. Better stop now or I’ll get my soap box out and start complaining about how complicated they make it and how a lot of the requirements don’t really make the roads any safer.

Your driver have a DOT physical? Had a local company kinda similar story as yours going from Chattanooga to Georgia and one of their drivers got a ticket from Georgia highway patrol for not having DOT health card. They sent like 10 guys to the clinic at same time for DOT physicals, made for a busy day.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

Yep IF your driver holds a CDL & crosses state lines they are required to carry medical cards . Have to renew every 2 yrs as well . No card needed for intrastate only interstate driving
