Turkey season starts on Monday, March 25.
Youth season is "Saturday & Sunday the week prior to the opening of spring season"
So does this put Youth on the 23 & 24??

District 5 office says 23 and 24. I asked them to send out a clarification email, because that’s not what the rules say. Maybe they will.

Alabama DNR has the worst communication Ive ever seen. I used to call to try to figure out when youth turkey seasons were. Public vs private season start dates and such made it not as straight forward as listing a date. Anyway, I could call 3 different offices and never get the same answer. It is crazy that they just dont list the dates.

you can call ten different Officers and get 10 different answers on ANY subject you choose.

you can call ten different Officers and get 10 different answers on ANY subject you choose. Yeah.. like what happens if the grain bin flips over in the dove field. Happens all the time. Should be considered a normal farming practice.

the problem is that there has never been any directions from the Montgomery Office on how to handle any questions, situations, problems. All up to the local District Offices, and not much from them.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Zones 1 & 3:
Spring Turkey Season: March 25 (Monday) – May 8, 2024
Special Youth Hunt: March 23 & 24 (Saturday & Sunday), 2024
Special Disabled Hunt: March 24 (Sunday), 2024
Zone 2:

The confusing part to me is this...
Season doesnt start on most public until April 1st. So, is the special youth hunt on public start on the 23rd or the 30th? I would guess the 30th. I suppose the Bankhead district which has a season start on April 8th would have a youth hunt on the 6th and 7th?
They should call it the silly season
