If you’re in Cleburne County. Go to Carrollton to the big liquor store on the right just before you get to the hospital.

Ask them for something top shelf in your budget and they will fix you up.

Any of the ones mentioned above will be good choices.

Anything it's all about the same no matter how much it cost.my red neck stomach can't seem to handle or digest most of that yuppie stuff.lol
Weller, Blanton's all that mess isn't good to me
Elijah Craig is good,George dickel, old Forester, and all the cheap stuff is fine.ive been given several high end bottles of whiskey and didn't like most.had a $200 bottle of https://photos.app.goo.gl/URUUAP73eAcybnW79 from the makers mark distiller .my boss bought the whole barrel.it sucked hot with no flavor lol it's all the same

I looked in his liquor cabinet, i saw a 4 roses bottle. There’s a lot of good suggestions here, thank’s.

This time of year liquor stores have gift packages too, with a flask or some nice glasses.
I’ve never liked four roses myself. I like whistle pig, you can easily stay under 100 or go up to 200+ at most stores.
Elisha Craig is a very nice gift bourbon.

I love this bottle, if you could find it.
Elisha Craig has multiple choices though.

My neighbor is a collector. When The Boss was in Dallas spoiling the grand kids, he asked if she would bring back two bottles of Old Forester King Ranch edition (sold only in Texas). I will admit it was very good. $99 a bottle.

Jefferson's Ocean is good too.

Neither of those will set you back $200, but both are kind of special.

In my opinion, and I drink a lot of bourbon, really pricey bourbons are mostly overrated. My buddies and I have done quite a few taste tests even testing $9,995 a bottle bourbons and going much past $50 or $60 a bottle and you are wasting your money. Seriously. When you get past that point, those are for collector guys that rarely even drink their stash.

This already stated above.
I've had a few drinks of, to me, expensive bourbons, but was never able to discern much difference than a good $40-$80 bourbon.

Did have a buddy who went to the ABC Lottery this past weekend and dropped some change on various rare bourbons.
Got him to get me a couple of bottles of Ezra Brooks and some other one that I've never had. I'm too cheap and would drink it all instead of saving it. lol

This is me. My expensive boubons are gifts to me. I buy bourbon to drink. Not to collect or brag about. It's gonna turn to piss. I've never been made aware of a different between cheap, regular price or high price piss.

any of the buffalo trace products, burbank has a good list.
I'll second heading over to Carrollton Beverage and seeing what they have. You can get a bottle of Eagle Rare over there in the 40-50 range. Get a bottle of it mix in a couple others and he will like it very much.

Lots of good choices listed. Don’t believe I saw 1792 Full Proof or Small Batch.

Woodford is good and my go to. Buffalo Trace is good if you can find it. All of the 4 Roses are good including the least expensive one.

For a few more dollars you can get him a six pack of Old Forester handles.

So, not technically a bourbon…but I’ve been buying some gentlemen jack.

It’s very smooth.

It’s not?
I’ve had it a few times and actually think it’s pretty good for the money.

It's sour mash Tennessee Whiskey , it doesn't meet the criteria to be called Bourbon. I think it's just a little technicality . I don't think it's because it's sour mash , however , high end Bourbons as a general rule don't run sour mash and 'look down their noses at it.' JD prefers to be called Tennessee Whisky .

I’m not a fan of Old No.7 but there’s not a thing in the world wrong with sour mash. Heck that’s a head start in the holler. grin

I ran into a retired distiller who worked at JD in Lynchburg. He said the process had changed over the years , mainly to speed up the whole process . He said they infuse it to speed up the distillation process and have some tricks to speed up aging.

I still like Rye better than any Bourbon I’ve ever had.

Rittenhouse rye (for the $) is the best drink in my house. It is a Heaven Hill mash.
Crown royal harvest rye is 2nd.
Whistle pig 6 yr rye is 3rd only because it’s a little more $.
Heaven Hill (green label) out of Kentucky is the best bourbon for the $ anywhere, you just can’t get it. I can’t anyway
1792 small batch is really good imo. I keep some.

It’s all good, just depends on what you like 😃

Globe - Willett Rye and Old Ezra Barrel Strength (or Proof) are excellent Rye whiskey.
I'm been looking for years for 1792 High Rye but haven't been able to put my hands on any.
