My dad told me he wanted to buy me a new shot gun for Christmas. I am leaning towards Browning A5 Wicked Wing Vintage Camo, UNLESS you all change my mind. I am a browning guy and I love that vintage Camo. I would use this for dove hunting and dog hunting.

Linky Below.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

For that $ I'd find a pre Jap, cream puff Belgium A5.

Hard to beat a browning. I use a benelli most of the time because it’s easier to clean, but I love my old Belgium made light 12 my grandfather gave me.

I gave my boy my Benelli. When I get back established the Wicked Wing A5 and Maxus both are going in my safe. From here on out it’s Browning, stainless Rugers, and Tikka, some older Remingtons and CRF Winchesters.

Why buy a 3.5 inch when you want to shoot doves? Id go with an over/under or just the silver.

I love my Benelli SBE 2. I dog hunt too. It throws a hecknof a pattern with Rem 3.5" 00 or my handload with the factory full or a Buck kicker. I do like the new A5. I'd honestly buy the one that points where you're looking. Benelli is adjustable for that Browning may be too.

Agree on not needing a 3.5”. With TSS for Turkey and bismuth for ducks, I don’t know anyone that still shoots a 3.5” gun. Many folks going the 20 gauge route. I don’t think they make the A5 in a 20 though.

I shoot a 3.5 for waterfowl and some for turkey (tss is expensive). Those non-toxic shells are too rich for my blood. I have been shooting 3.5 kents fasteel #2 by the case. But for doves I use a Browning Gold, Browning Citori or my sons Winchester SX3 (gold). I know A5s dont usually jam, but shooting crap light loads out if a 3.5 is kinda asking for problems.

I really like a 3.5" for buckshot. If will give you a few more pellets in factory shells and a lot more room in the hull if you hand load. There has been a lot of deer killed with a 3" shell or even a 2 3/4, why settle for less than the most.

I will say, though I love a 3.5, it's not easy to find a 3.5" gun that will cycle dove loads well.

iam not really sure your dad ment $2000 budget for the gun, he mightv'e been thinking of more like a winchester sxp for $200, anyhow you may want to confirm that first.

I have that exact gun, and love it. Takes a couple heavy loads in 2 3/4 to break it in but after that I've had zero problems cycling.

Just bought a Beretta A400 Extreme in .12 gauge. It fits his budget (at least where I bought mine in Monroeville). Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet but they have rave reviews. Kick off recoil reducer in the shock is supposed to be a game changer.

I love that shotgun bb...I bet Its SWEET SHOOTING.... thumbup but now I played around a bit with the camo and I really like that bottomland camo and the Realtree Max 7 better....The colors look better to me with that bronze receiver for some reason....Either way I like it...

Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...
