I drove down to the club on Sunday afternoon to hunt on Mon and Tues. My wife got a call from a family member Sun afternoon saying her uncle was turning yellow (jaundiced) and they were thinking about taking him to the emergency room. She told them that was a good idea and hung up. They called about two hours later and said he wouldn't go and went and laid down on the couch and went to sleep and they found him dead shortly after. The coroner thinks is was some undiagnosed liver condition due to the jaundice. I told her I was coming home and she said there was no need and that there was nothing I could do so I ultimately stayed because she was right, there was nothing I could do.
On Monday afternoon I get a call from my sister telling me that her and mom are taking my dad to the Emergency Room because he was on the couch shaking and his blood pressure was dropping bad (80/55). My sister calls me on the way to the hospital and get this...... she says he's jaundiced really bad. I just jump up and take off for camp to throw my stuff in the truck and head to Birmingham. After a pile of tests UAB found that his gallbladder was full of stones so bad that it ruptured and stones started escaping into his liver and bile ducts. They did a mini procedure yesterday where they went down his thoat and cleaned the stones out of his liver and bile ducts. Within an hour of them returning him back to the room his blood pressure was back to normal (128/76). They have scheduled him for Friday to have that gallbladder removed.
If you could send one up for him, and my wife's family as well. Tough couple of days.
