Crazy

.243? (Kidding)

haha. But is was a 30-06 with 150gr corelokts. It was a funny story. My buddy shot 7 times and ran out of shells. Calls his brother on the phone and he runs 200 yards and hands him his gun like a baton in a track relay race. Deer was gone by then. But we got a hell of a laugh out of it.

We were making a drive and 17 shots were fired. I was sitting on a log just laughing my azz off. After the 7 shot sequence I even yelled out. "shoot him again!"

killed 5 bucks and a doe. Reminded me of our drives in the 80's and 90's when we had lots of deer and less trophy hunters.

Unfortunately no deer was found. Otto did a hell of a job though! Found first blood around 75 yards from hit site and stayed on the trail the whole time. Think we jumped him and based on blood we are thinking brisket shot. Thanks again CNC I hope I don’t have to call you again but I know you and your dogs will find it if it’s a dead deer or bay it up if it’s hit hard.

Good to meet you… thumbup ..Hate we don’t have pics to show.

Everything looked promising at first…..we we’re finding pretty good blood for the first 300-400 yards. Then we got to where he bedded and there was only a couple of tablespoon sized spots of blood in the bed…..We never heard him jump or anything so I assume he got up and got gone well ahead of us when he heard us coming…..Tracked him another 350 yards past the bed without finding another drop of blood before it finally just petered out on us and we decided it likely wasn’t a lethal hit. Everything points to it being brisket. Hopefully he'll show back up
