It sure seems like the coon population is skyrocketing. Thursday night we treed 18 in 16 trees and the dogs were only off the leash around 4 hours. I've been coon hunting for about 18 years and I've never seen populations this high in Alabama. Part of the problem lies with not having near as many coonhunters as we once did. If you're in North Alabama and have a coon problem we sure can save you a lot of time and energy. PM me if any of you would allow a couple guys come in for a weekend and thin back on em. https://dc.statelibrary.sc.gov/bits...ting_2006.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y^ Link to an official study on raccoon hunting affecting deer movement.

Lack of hunting/ trapping and increase of people feeding deer makes for a population boom

Never had a night even close to what we did Thursday around here. I’ve been on one early and late round in Vicksburg MS a couple years ago where we treed 9 early and 8 late but that’s delta.

When they show up and my cur catches wind of them they are short lived. Had one showing up late at night. I got up this morning and let him out of the house and 20 minutes later my wife said you know he’s treed right? Finished that one off about 4:45.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
