It definately identifies as a white oak, but itll never be a white oak, the bark is different.

Sorry guys got caught up with HS ballgame last night.
Overcup oak in a dry slough bed. It is in our bottom close to the Lux. There’s tons of old wet weather sloughs here from before they channeled the Lux. The best trees grown ON the slope of the slough.
Killed a lot of deer when I was a kid around them.

Looks like a couple of cords of great firewood…..white oak is my favorite but that would work too.
