1. Do yall wait until after the first frost to hunt them? I've always heard to do this because of the wolf worms. 2. Is there a good video or perhaps contraption to use for cleaning them? I've cleaned a bunch and always feel like it takes me too long and I'm not doing it right.
TIA

Snip feet off, slit fur on back, and pull. Cut head off and gut.

Hunting squirrels all summer is no problem. I cut the tails toward the back and step on the tail and pull. A good pair of snips helps keep a knife sharp when going through the wrist and ancle joints. Remember: if you crack the bones at the wrist and ankle instead of below them the meat will pull up the leg or arm when cooked.
Using two 5 gallon buckets is best (with water). Skin, throw in first bucket, gut, throw in second bucket. This is especially the case when cleaning many at once with more than 1 person. I always remove the belly flaps too.
Dont know about a video.

Wolves are bot fly larvae. They look nasty, but as far as I know they don’t affect the meat. As far as cleaning I’ve always cut across the back, pull in both directions. Knock the feet and head off.

They are definitely easier to clean while still warm.....but who does that during a hunt.

Thanks for posting. That's close to what I've been doing. I've shot a couple with the wolves in them. I've heard they don't do anything to the meat, but it's a hard visual to overcome if you've ever seen it......

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
