Does anybody know whether this front has gotten the doves moving in/around Montgomery? The state said there weren't many birds on the field this week. I'm trying to decide whether or not to drive down for the hunt tomorrow.

I hunted there on September 23rd, after receiving an email saying there were few doves. It would have been more accurate to say “there were no doves”! We didn’t see a dove in five hours of sitting. I wouldn’t waste my time.

I ended up going since I promised to take the brother in law who had never been on a dove hunt. It appears to be an exact repeat of what omega experienced above.
I can say the setup looked great. Plenty of bare dirt and millet around, as well as cover to sit in. So the issue wasn’t the SOA itself but just no birds in the general area. I looked at power lines during the last 30min of the drive in and didn’t see a single one anywhere nearby.
