Rode out a duracheo in Iowa in the shop at work. Wife was on her way home and got fought up in it. Said it felt like her truck was about to tip over. Was terrifying talking to her on the phone thinking at any moment it could be tragic.

Was at my then girlfriends house and went to leave and when the radio came on it was a weather alert that there was a tornado headed to eagle creek in Alabama. Those that are familiar know that that town is tiny. I ran back in woke up her parents and we all crammed into the storm shelter. Felt the house shake. Walked outside and you could smell all busted pines.

Got caught in a lightning storm fishing lake Martin. No house close. Just tucked down in the lowest spot I could.

We rode out the tornado in 2011 that destroyed Hackleburg and Phil Campbell in an interior closet. Did major damage to our house and property.

Hail that size would be a nightmare.

The storm came on FAST. I was helping to unload boxes from a delivery truck and put them in a trailer for storage. Everyone else had made it into the trailer and if was running with the last box. I could see the storm moving over the parking area and see the cars/trucks being smashed by the hail. I ran to trailer and dove into it just as the hail reached us. The hail was hitting the metal roof of the trailer and it sounded like gun shots it was so loud. You could see the fear on everyone's face. From the back of the storage trailer I watched our trucks and office trailer getting smashed by the hail.

I measured a piece of hail about 30 minutes after the storm and it was 3-1/2" in diameter. When I left the job later I saw the path of the tornado just a few hundred yards south of where we were.

70 - 100 miles offshore out of Orange Beach. Left the dock at 1:00 PM with sunny and calm conditions and the gulf was like glass. By 10:00 that night severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, lightning and big waves/swells were popping up out of nowhere. We had radar and had to play cat and mouse running for those storms until about 2:00 AM. We were in a 36 foot center console and thought a few times we were headed to the deep. Saw a few other boats out there doing the same thing.

Offshore mostly.
We were out one time in early May. Good seas but a storm blew up. We were sitting under a rig that was struck several times within about an hour. Very glad we weren’t in open water.
Had a mid summer trip on my old boat where we left the dock around midnight. Got about 45 miles out and started having issues keeping one of the motors going at idle. Decided to head north and met the outflow from a storm on the coast. 1-2’ went to 5-7’and 25mph winds real fast. The seas were so steep that it broke my console loose across the front. The console and T-top fell back on us. We spent around two hours just fighting to keep it into the seas before the weather died back to calm.
I also once was inside a waterspout on the old D.I. Pier. It was … wet.

Was out in the middle of Lake Ontario. Big storm hit. Had to make my way baby in 15 foot waves. Basscat got me home.

I was deer hunting and a tornado came by my vicinity and I was half mile away from the F5 that came thru Trussville many years ago. Was also at UAB in night school when the big one came thru in 1998-99.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I could write a book about it.
There aint nothin more fun than doing your girl in a Cracker Barrel freezer during a tornado warning.

well i came very close to being struck by lighting twice and looked uo in a tornado once while running a cotton picker .

i was loading oats in a grain bin from a dump truck . i was leaning against the bin and wanted a cigarette , they were in the truck . so i got up get in the truck fire one up and boom lighting hit the grain bin . that cig may have saved my life .

breaking ground one year had lighting hit a tree 30 yards from me , i was on a cab less tractor , 6030 john deer

was picking cotton next to a wood line and a storm was coming and i like a few short rows being done , ever body else had lefy for another feild close by .
i get to the end of the last two rows and the wind gets i mean baddddd and its damn dark . i look up and im looking in a hole . the other guys are a mile away watching it . we've seen a few when i was working on the farm if it wasn't raining or coming our way we never slowed up .

few more close calls but im to lazy to type them . im real lucky to be alive for a lot of other reason as well . lol

Tornado hit our house a few years ago. Blew out a few windows, busted most of the door frames, had rotten sticks go through the roof and wiped out all my chickens. We were in the basement and came out fine

I had to ride out Hurricane Charley in Daytona Beach in 2004. My wife and I were down there on our 1st anniversary and they changed the storm path every 6-8 hours until it was too late to evacuate. That was 6.5 hours of you know what on the 2nd floor of a hotel with the walls bowing in and out, the roof got blown off, the ceiling cracked, water poured in on us, the windows shattered, we had to drive back 12 hours without windows in my truck.

One night before opening day of duck season we decided to camp out on a river bank down toward South Sauty. We forgot the stakes to the tent. Bad storms moved through about midnight. Tornado sirens, wind, rain, lightening. A tornado had hit the mountain right above us. We had to use the tent material to make a little lean-to tent. The boat was full of water. It was miserable. That might have been the last time I camped out for duck opener.

I watched this one as well as it was hitting the Mt. Hope area. It was surreal.

2008 F4 hit my buddys house in Aldridge grove just a few miles east of me. It was like 3am and we were trying to get the kids in the car and out of our double wide to go to my uncles shelter. When I came out it could hear it in Bankhead and screamed at my wife to get her you know what in the car NOW! I looked like Bo Duke driving down my driveway.
April 19 2009 I ran every home from my daughters birthday party. You could tell it was coming. Made it to the shelter in plenty of time. A friend and I were standing up top watching and saw the roof come of my Papaws old barn. F1 came across my place. He yelled a profanity and said its a tornado. I quickly punched him and told him to shut up as we ran down the steps to safety. When we got in the shelter all the kids were crying and all the women praying. I held the door and he held me.

Scariest was the tornado last year that hit us. I was at work in Huntsville kids were at school and wife at work. She works at the hospital and only word I got from her was she was getting everyone in the basement and moments later it got hit. When they called out Co. Rd 59 I yelled to my boss there is a tornado on my road I got to go. I was driving straight at it and praying. Dumb thing to do but I was in fear for my family and wouldnt stop. Tore up my Family's places/ farms pretty bad. Lucky nobody was hurt or worse.
