Get the solar panels. Ive had one in a green field in our cutover for 4 months, and one in some thick woods for a week now. Both are still showing 100%. 60$ for the solar panel(that has an integrated rechargeable lithium battery) or 50$ fot AA lithiums every month or 1.5 months its a no brainer.

Build a external battery box and use a 12v 7.5ah battery. I think the Jack size is 4.7x1.1 mm it’ll come up with a Google search. I got over 10 months before I had to change out the battery. Obviously a feeder would shorten the run time.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Take it off timely and set it at once or twice a day. I get good battery life from my tactacms.

Mine worked great the past two seasons. Changed no settings since then and now they eat up batteries in 2-3 weeks.

You using energizer lithium batteries? If not, start there. If you are already, go to an external battery or one of the solar setups. That’s about all you can do.

I have 4 of these camera's with issues. One the replaced under warranty. 2 I sent back and they repaired them and they still don't do what they are supposed to do. One I have at the office, and I just sent it back for an upgrade replacement.
On the office camera, the red infrared lights won't shut off. On one of my other ones, it has a low signal, and the other one just stops sending pics. There is a hole for resetting the camera on the bottom when you open the front, if that doesn't cure your issue, then there is a problem with the camera itself in my experience.
I think I have 4 out right now that don't seem to be eating batteries. They send pics once a day. So in my case 4 out of 7 camera's broke. I have 2 and one of them started doing the IR light not shutting off thing. I tried to contact Tactacam but can't get a response.

Anyone know why reveal cameras eat batteries faster than the other brands? Or how it can be fixed? I have it set to only send pics 2 times a day....... Any wisdom is appreciated. How many pics a day is it taking? Is it set to video? What kind of batteries? How's your signal? Too many unknowns to answer your question I have a cam that's been out since July at 100%, another same time frame at 20%. I know the one at 20% has an iffy signal often...

All of their pros are on there.
