Anybody load for an H&R single bbl rifle? Friend of mine is going to let me tinker on one that's giving him fits with factory ammo. 243 Win. He has tried several common 100 gr factory pills but cannot make it shoot a decent group. He asked me to give it a try. Any info floating out there about bullets and or seating depth that has worked with others? Ive got some 95 gr partitions that ive had good luck with other 243s. Have several powders to use that historically do will in that cartridge. Just looking for a good starting place to try to begin... any info is appreciated. 2 MOA would be acceptable.

Those handi-rifles have a slooooow twist when chambered in 243Win, 1:10. The one we had for the kids wouldn’t group any factory 100gr offerings but did much better with 85-90gr options.
With your handloads, I bet you can get those 95gr Partition’s to shoot.

Don't have any loading info, but did buy this same rifle for my niece. If wouldn't shoot a group, had to clean, and clean the barrel. Then it would group. Might help?

Anybody have any 6mm Speer flat base 90 gr Hot Cor bullets they'd like to trade or sell. Only need a dozen or so for testing.

The 243 handi rifle is known for accuracy issues I wouldn't spend much time with it if I were you

Update: i was shooting at 70 yards rather than 100, but I got some 70 gr ballistic tips to shoot 1/2" inch 3-shot group, and those 95 gr partitions came in at 3/4".
Not bad, and more than acceptable for the owner. Mission accomplished.
