I remember going to the original in Chelsea, when that's about all that was there. I remember that was the first time I had ever seen a glass of tea that big. Now all cups of tea and soda are that big everywhere. I remember the the hamburger steaks with all the fried onions on top. Delicious. I loved that.
Used to have to drive through "The Narrows" to get there and I remember the trip from Cahaba Heights to Chelsea felt like a long way.
I haven't been in Lloyd's in years... Maybe that's why they are closing down. Too many eating choices on Highway 280. When I was growing up it was a big deal to head down 280 to go to Lloyds. Nothing past Rocky Ridge Road but the animal clinic and the White Barn.

Yep, remember it well, making a special trip for lunch at times and having nothing much between the water plant and there...boy has that changed - even by the time I got out of there 15 or so years ago.

I ate there twice in last 20 years. Was so so to me. Hate to see it go away though.

It's still open. Had lunch there today. Last day is supposed to be the 15th. Developers bought the land. Big offer.

Just my guess but I figure two things happened here. 1) They have prime 280 road front property. 2) Their prices had gotten very high, in my opinion, that probably hurt their business.

I remember when they built the Inverness development, I was like "Why are they building a housing development way the Hell out here?"
