Wife and I decided about 3-4 months ago that we wanted to make our own sourdough bread at home, so we developed a starter from scratch, and now make bread about every 2 weeks. The bread is incredible, and we truly enjoy making it. I eat a slice almost every morning, whether it be toasted with butter or with an over easy egg on it. We use it for grilled cheeses, bread for soup, homemade croutons, everything.

Here’s some that just came out of the oven.

I follow this one, except I use a 1:4:4 levain left overnight to ripen.

That looks fantastic. I am interested in trying but scanning that recipe made my head hurt. Quite the process!

It is a little labor intensive at first, but once you do it a little, you figure out a routine and it’s easy.
