I was at a show one night where he stopped “county boy can survive” and told a little story about a game warden buddy he had that was killed in the line of duty. Then he started the song back saying he’d like to spit some beechnut in that dude’s eyes and shoot him with (insert) “the late warden’s name’s” 45. It was badass. I’ll tryn find the man’s name he was talking about. I want to say he was a warden for Greene or Wilcox but I could be mistaken.

Blues Man is my all time favorite.

You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

One of mine too. Alan Jackson does it well also. Blues man and Dinosaur are probably my favorite Hank Jr songs.

His songs are the best. Glad I got to see him in person years ago at wild adventures in valdosta Georgia.

Grady Jackson, was the Pike Co game warden he was friends with. He wasn’t killed in the line of duty I got that part wrong.

My friend was his guitar tech for 5yrs

Hank carries 20 guitars to every show and chooses the guitar according to what color boots he wears that day.
Lotta stories I heard about working for him. This was in the early 2000s.

Hank jr changed my life. I listened too everything but country music. Then we moved out to the country and I changed schools when i was 12. Hanging out with country boys I tried to listen to country music but honestly I hated it and it gave me a headache. Riding back from town with my dad on a friday night I had Cassey Cason on the radio when Country Boy Can Survive. The music was so different from anything I had heard. I was instantly hooked. Even now he's one of my favorite artists. Seen him live about 10 years ago, it was a bucket list item.

this is where hank tells him Icons don't ask to smoke yeah btw. his new blues album is probably some of the best blues playing together in one album as far as some cyrstal clear blues. You just have to overlook the x rating. it's probably not one to play for the kids.
