I put out lime last week on mostly level plots and mostly recently tilled. Right after I got done it started pouring and we ended up getting 7" of rain. It has been super dry to that point. My question is did i lose all the lime or would it have soaked in?

Dif soil types have diff leaching of minerals rates. Clay soils hold lime (and minerals, in general) better than a sandy soil. 7" is a lot of rain. Take soil sample next March and see how the pH looks. People talk about lime needing 6 months to change the pH. Well, the catalyst for the soil and lime is water! So, during most summers, your pH will take longer. During the winter months, because of the increase in rain, the soil pH should improve more rapidly. Anyway, I hate you got that much rain!!! But you know when the best time to apply lime (if you need it), right? Ha! WHEN YOU CAN!!!! Soil pH is so important.
