During warm weather before getting into the woods, I use a whole aerosol can of repel max with 40 % deet on me on my shoes and socks and pants.... I pull my pants cuff up and spray a heavy coating on my shoes and socks.... then pull cuffs back down and spray a heavy coating almost emptying the rest on my pants leg and shoes leaving just a bit to hit arms legs and neck..... my brother does the same.... it works for us. I do the same thing and it seems to work.
