I have a ‘21 and it’s the first diesel I’ve ever owned. I’ll be hard pressed to go back to a gas burner.
I average around 18-19 mpg around town on 34’s (lots of stop/go) and the power/torque is very impressive. I’ve gotten as much as 26 on the interstate but don’t do a lot of interstate driving.
I don’t know if the mpg makes up for the difference in fuel cost, I didn’t buy it for that, but it’s a nice bonus for a truck that pulls as well as it does. Good point on the more fuel expense versus miles per gallon. The oil change expense is also higher I believe? Regardless, the diesel trucks are great work trucks!! God Bless, David B.
