I had a long talk with my doctor about the vaccine. He advised, but did not push me to get the vaccine and I appreciated his honesty about the subject. I hit several of the high risk categories - 50+ YO, diabetic, high BP, etc. My employer was in the process of mandating it so I took the first two shots but have not taken any boosters.
This happened after I already had China flu. I don't regret taking the jabs but if given the option again I wouldn't do it. My doc tried to push it on me. Hell his office STILL requires masks and social distancing. The SOB had ever vaccine and booster, bragged about it on facebook, making fun of anti-vac non-doctors who can read, being experts, all while he quoted CNN article after CNN article. I stopped going to him. The last I heard he has had two major heart issues and is now working part time on some disability. He swears it was COVID...

Wife and I took the derna shot after watching a lot of our friends, family, and my customers die horrible deaths from covid. I have had joint pain ever since and I am convinced it was from that damn shot. Not 1 but 2 of my friends got the pfizer shots. Within a few weeks both had to have stents put in their hearts and had to take blood thinners. Another friend of mine got a booster, not sure how many, but knowing him he probably has taken every one available. A few months ago he has a stroke while he was working out. I say that schnit aint no good and nobody is going to change my mind about it.

Cal gave me the first 2 as soon as they were available and I was very thankful to get them. The original strain of covid took several of my friends, and one of my former deacons who was one of my best friends. Those original shots worked at a very high level and I didn't get covid for over a year. I had some mild symptoms the day after taking each, but nothing after that
Once all the variations started, they told you very plainly that the vax would no longer protect you from getting the disease, though they claimed that it would reduce the severity of the symptoms. That didn't seem like it was worth the risk, so I never had anything else. In January of 2022, I finally got covid and haven't been the same since. I can't breathe through my nose when sleeping and stay stopped up all the time. Covid was a thousand times worse than the vaccine for me.
I don't think that they will ever again be able to develop a covid vax that will protect you from the latest version. It will be like flu shots, where you take a shot for last year's disease and it offers little protection from the current version.

Whole family and I got the shot and booster and not one of us has gotten covid or any other issue for that matter. I didn't want it but work pressured me and wife did too. Had a guy I know die from covid and another nearly did. Not in a club or lease thank goodness but you ain't finding my primo public land spots they will die with me haha.

I reluctantly took the Pfizer shot and booster back when the initial strain was going around. There were several factors in that decision, one work travel looked to become very difficult, and two our family had the responsibility of doing a lot of hands-on caring for my elderly FIL who was at essentially zero immune system following a particularly intense sequence of chemo. With the available "data" if you can call it that, my perception was: we were all working with imperfect sets of information to navigate a very fluid murky situation. I had to make the best judgement I could.
Things I "knew" at the point I made the decision to take it:
- I personally knew of multiple people who actually died or SEVERELY sick from the initial strain of virus - I personally knew of a couple men my age who had severely reduced physical function after contracting the virus (lung capacity, etc.) and really had trouble rebounding to do normal stuff like drag a deer, etc. - I knew of no one personally who actually had a negative reaction from the vaccine aside from headache and feeling foggy - At that time, the rate of elderly people (person I'm attempting to protect) dying from COVID seemed to be strongly decreased by that population taking the vaccine. I still think the Pfizer shot was probably decent at reducing impact on weak elderly people.
I'm guessing the OP posted this topic to draw out those who took the shot so as to ridicule the type of thinking I listed above. That's fine, but we all had to make the best judgement we could at the time with the information we had.
My opinion is that a lot of this topic is a Rorschach test that reveals more about ourselves than the topic we are trying to sort out. For instance, I know of a lot of people who took the shot. I don't know of a single person who had a blood clot, heart attack or whatever. I don't know what that says about me, or the ones who swear they can report a good number of the ones they saw take the shot had blood clots and heart problems. I'm sure many are telling the honest truth, and some can't/won't sort a normal medical condition form their political position. I honestly can't figure out what to believe about anything anymore. I do know there are extreme positions on "both sides" who are either intentionally spewing crap or are very poor judges of how to interpret what they are seeing.
Whatever. At this point its over. With the risk being completely over with, it does offer some clarity that I most of us on this board could agree with: - We see that with the drug companies recently and even still pushing vaccines, it's blatantly clear their messaging is completely profit driven. Zero interest in what is actually best for you. If I ever did believe a word out of their mouth I certainly will not from here forward. - We see the government pushed vaccines LONG after it was clear it had no effectiveness on contracting variants or spread from those contagious. If I ever did believe a word out of their mouth, I certainly will not from here forward. - The media refuses to go back and take an honest clear-eyed look at what happened here. This proves they have no interest in bravely exploring the truth. All the more reason I've never believed anything they say. - Leftist refuse to acknowledge all the above. Confirmed idiots, liars, and proven inability to critically reason. - The people still walking around with cloth masks under their chin truly amaze me. It's hard to believe your eyes at the stupidity.
My 2 cents.

II will always believe covid was developed for population control. I’m not convinced but heard early on several in the medical field thinking it was an escaped biological weapon

I want anyone and everyone on here that's convinced someone else is going to get blood clots and DIE from the COVID Vax.... to explain the Statistics I posted above.
https://www.businessinsider.com/736-of-all-statistics-are-made-up-2010-2There is your explanation. I did not get the shot. My neurologist, who is brilliant, told me in no uncertain terms not to get it. That’s what’s so damn funny about these threads One side will never believe the other side I’d bet it’s close to 50/50 amongst medical professionals as to what to believe. And the the other half would be a mix of the other opinions. It’s kinda laughable at this point, because there isn’t any reason other than for self affirmation. Yes I did get Moderna’s first two round no more. Upon returning home form my 2nd jab I learned of several individuals critical, on vent, vaxxed and so forth. I have no regrets because I made an educated decision for my conditions and discussed with my physicians. None pushed it and none got vax money for it. I went to the drugstore. How exactly are the pure bloods trying to ascertain? Seriously inquiring minds want to know.

This question is old and tired.
The real question is - where is your trust level for the medical community and pharmaceuticals overall?
That trust level should have already been pretty low with the opioid crisis. And even less after this mess. Trust level = ZERO

I hate it for the older folks. It had to be tough. I was Taylor made for this. In 40's fairly healthy, live secluded, both parents already dead. I didn't even think it was that serious because I didn't hear of anyone dieing from it. I spoke to one of my old teachers around the time it was mostly over. She had lost several people because of the virus. It had her shook and she was a tough old bird that didn't scare easy. Really made me rethink things.

My wife is a health care professional. She calls it “Run death is near”. Food for thought.

Isn’t that what Trump took (remdesivir) along with some other cocktail
