Me too.

I know of a few situations where they were used to kill specific buck and or gobblers. Folks were bragging on FB.

So is that the case now...no cell cams during deer hunting season?

I don't use them but last Fall, a guy at church showed me a pic of a nice 10 pt. he killed off his lease in Oklahoma. Said he had pics of the deer coming to his feeder two days in a row so he jumped in the truck and drove all night to kill him the next afternoon.

Wouldn't bother me one bit if it happened.

Well, I’m not against cell cams. I’m not against bait. I’m not against the February extension (where needed), but I’m entirely against all three in combination. It’s not sustainable.

What’s your projection, in years, on when the species will be at an unhuntable level?

Depends on which piece of property you're talking about and what you define as "unhuntable"

They're not going to ban game cameras.

For the State. Unhuntable is defined by not having a population that would support hunting.

I like cams, mainly because it keeps me busy and I like to see whats around. Ive never hunted a specific animal (yet). Bait should be outlawed before a cam but I dont care about either… Im gonna hang cams either way

That happens every day of the season. I think there's a legitimate "fair chase" argument there. But everyone I know uses them and they waited way too long to ban them.

Cell cams helped our club a good bit. It allowed us to decide ahead of time which bucks we were mature and which ones were not. They helped us let a good bit of 3 year olds walk. Also helped us kill a few mature bucks by patterning them. Used correctly I think they can be a useful tool to change the age structure of the deer herd. Plus it’s just as fun as shooting one to me. Or pretty close to it anyways.
