I don't shoot them on my land. They are just part of the ecosystem. Had a pair living just behind my house, but the ef4 tornado got them...along with everything else.

Honestly you can take stupid and shove it up your a$$, how much in dues you paid?

How about you get thicker skin. He’s giving his opinion on a common rule in a lot of hunting clubs that’s been discussed on this Internet forum for years. One of the many reasons why himself and others like him have our own property.

I don't know, I kinda think the rule if you shoot it mount it is a pretty good one - at least for more inexperienced hunters/guests. Probably not so much for a hunting club in general. Stops a lot of those itchy fingers that just want to shoot anything with antlers and call it a mature buck or a cull or some crap. It will definitely make a person take that second look at it before they pull the trigger. It's a rule I try to have for myself honestly, if I just want to blast some deer, I will kill does...but obviously there are exceptions. The truth is there is really no way to enforce it, so for me it's just a way to help someone that's maybe not as experienced judging bucks stop and think about it for a second. Now for bobcats or other predators, nah, I'm shooting those for the turkey and fawn population. Now if I shot a big pretty bobcat and he wasn't too messed up from the shot, I probably would mount it b/c I don't have one.

I do not shoot bobcats. Coyotes I will shoot every chance I get, but a bobcat is just sort of magestic to me. I guess finding a kitten and being able to play with it for a few hours before sending it to rehab helped me get there. I would have kept it as a pet if I could have.

I’m just speculating here but I think we’re probably just “shooting” ourselves in the foot by killing them. Numerous studies show their main diet consisting mostly of rodents and rabbits. According to studies its actually very rare for them to eat quail or turkeys. I’m sure some will think otherwise but that’s what the numbers show…….Wiping out bobcats is very likely just feeding more rodents to the hawks and owls and increasing their populations. Just something to ponder over when you look up and see the sky full of flying cats.

i was told their biggest adversary was yotes and that they would kill yote pups given the chance. I imagine they also help with coons and possums.

The rules on killing bobcats have changed too. Now you need to call the game warden and get a permit.

Georgia has a Bobcat season that does NOT coincide with Deer season. Used to see many while hunting there years ago.

You are supposed to report and get a registered tag if you keep a killed bobcat for pelt or taxidermy. That’s only after you’ve killed one, though.

I didn't see any in person, but I have a few I've seen on camera. Not sure you can really judge much by "in person" sightings.

That’s what i was thinking as well. You can kill them all day long but if you want to mount it or tan it you or the taxidermist has to get a tag.

Got a biggun where I hunt I would like to take. Let the little ones walk. Both in Union Springs and Lowndes. The large stands wild blackberries at brush piles from land disturbance / timber clearing brings the rabbits and rodents which brings boocoo bobcat.

Choot em!!! I had much rather kill the rabbits in front of a pack of beagles than let the kitty cats have them.
