If you see a bobcat while deer or turkey hunting......do you typically shoot it or let it walk??

Shoot most of the time, depends on the hunt. If archery hunting I'd sling one every time.

Shoot it. I don’t see that many though

I always let them walk. Surprisingly one of our best fields has a bobcat that works it frequently. You almost expect to see it. If it is the same one it has been in that same area for several years. Actually kind of interesting to watch.

I am torn. I know they are death to turkey and quail but they are just so cool to watch I have a really hard time pulling the trigger. Actually see them fairly frequently and have watched some pretty cool deer/cat interactions. Also got to watch a momma with 2 kits a bunch of times one year.

Walk. I will waste a hunt on a coyote though. Don’t see a lot of cats.

Shoot every time. I enjoy cooking them believe it or not.

I let one walk this past season deer hunting. Didn’t want to mess up my hunt. Low and behold it ran into the crp and spooked out a group of deer. I’d be willing to bet that if I had shot the deer would have stayed bedded and maybe presented a shot later on. I will never let a predator walk by again

I’m about 50/50 on let it walk. I’ve shot several. Had a few I’d have shot if I could have and had more than a couple in my sights and let them walk away. I’ll hurt myself to kill a coyote.

Shoot. Before coyotes became the norm in Al. I am under the impression that they were the #1 cause of fawn mortality other than natural causes. I reckon that includes roadkill.

Rule in our club is only shoot it if you mount it.
