Been seeing poults since early May. Still seeing poults of various sizes, hens on nests, and gobblers still white-headed fulll strut with hens RIGHT NOW. Always been this way. In the past 10 days I've been from Orange Beach to Guntersville and saw all of that from one point to the other. Ain't no difference in turkeys, just different opinions and ideals from turkey hunters. This

We got poults around here old enough to buy a pack of cigarettes, and you are running over eggs. Yep - south AL and north AL are exactly the same….. And still have gobblers strutting with hens. Gobblers strut with hens year round And I’d bet for different reason in the fall Watched one strutt on a youth deer hunt with a good friends son. We were hunting wma my friend was the biologist on some 20 years ago. More of dominance deal, pecking order. Another friend posted this on FB today This gobbler was strutting band breeding these hens. Once again a totally different reason Were these Jennie’s or hens that lost nest? I’m betting most lost nest but then again they didn’t present an ID They’ve been hanging around his house once March. Totally wild birds, not hunted but wild.
