I use the FG for rods with micro guides and any time I'm tying up at the house. On the water I usually go with an Alberto knot. The FG is definitely stronger though. I almost never use fluoro leaders now. Mono seems to work just as good for me.

I have a couple with micro guides and the Alberto goes through, but not clean. Guess I'll try the FG and see how it compares.

I’ve always used double uni knot to join braid to leader. I tried the FG knot several times last year and it kept breaking while casting after an hour or so using it. Obviously I did something wrong, but I don’t know what.

double uni here as well. It's easy to tie certain knots when you are sitting in your garage rigging stuff up, but it's another thing to be able to tie them quickly and easily when you're bouncing around in the boat.

The PR knot has 100% knot strength and passes through the guides easily. It takes an act of congress to tie it! You have to have a tool called a bobbin. Great knot if you have the patience to tie it.

Have always tied a blood knot
Not sure if it's best but it seems to always hold and pretty much only knot I know how to tie without slippage or really only knot I can tie to connect different lines lol
