I don’t think I’d sleep through someone coming in my room but there’s no way I’d sleep through something licking my toes No sh1t! We had a housecat that did that to me one time and it took a flying trip across the bedroom, smacked into the dresser face first, and never came in our bedroom again.

If I'm in a motel room, the deadbolt is locked and there is a pistol in easy reach. If I have to fly in, door still gets deadbolted and I have the best improvised weapon I can acquire locally at hand.
A can of wasp spray will give you the upper hand quick, if you have to use it. Same with a can of vegetables in a pillowcase.
