Larry Hall asked me to have his ashes placed in
Kowliga Creek, in one of our conversations prior
to his passing. He asked that I handle it alone.
We now have his relatives coming up from
Louisiana Saturday to have a service and follow
his wishes.
Since there is a change of plans now, I feel, that
any of us wanting to join in, can do it.
No plans are definite on time or location, but it
will be midday Saturday May 6 (I'll post details later.)
He considered us family, so feel free to join in.

Larry was a good one. It hasn't been the same without him around here.

I have kept the PMs he sent me over the years and read them periodically. He could be a abrasive, but he was exceptionally kind and incredibly knowledgeable about a lot of subjects. We chatted a lot about hunting and fishing. I live in the Little Kowaliga Creek area and would love to participate, but unfortunately will be in SC this weekend.

This is a great gesture and service for his family. I never spoke to him in person, but he PMed me on hunting topics a few times he had seen me post. I was always pleasantly surprised at how knowledgeable and creative he was. He was an interesting fellow. I’m sure folks who knew him better than me have even more cherished interactions. I hope your get together goes well.

Yep i miss the Ol' Fart. I miss answering his phone calls, cause he'd usually say hey B%@% what ya doing? And I'd say nuttin much D%@#head! 😄

Folks, we are looking at Saturday morning, gathering
at Children's Harbor, getting together around 11:00.
Larry's 2 sisters (from Slidell, La.) and his brother (from
Houston) plan to be there.
Depending on what's going on, parking may be a bit of a
problem. We can't park across the road at the restaurant.
They are having a grand reopening, Saturday.
Just call me and I'll try to help. (706) 518-7047.
We need a westerly wind. If not, we will need a boat.
(bass boat, or run-about, or pontoon) Call me if we have a
volunteer that can help with the boat.
We will give the family a little privacy at the beginning or
ending. Im trying to keep this simple and let them guide
us.

I miss ole Perch and never met him. We did talk several times on the phone just like we always knew each other.

He was a great guy, never met him but spoke on phone with him several times about fishing

I don't enjoy talking on the phone very much, but it always made me grin when I looked to see who was calling and it was Larry.

I never got to meet Larry, but he sent me messages and I take that as he took a liking to me. I wish I could be there Saturday in my boat, as I’ve called it the Perchjerker since we got it. Not necessarily in his name, but all we catch is dinks out of it. I’ve got to work, but would sure be there if I could. One day I’ll haul it up there and visit and have myself a beer, and catch a fish. Thank you for honoring him Mr. Ernie. Rest easy Perch.
