Imazapyr is your friend here as long as there are not any hardwoods in the area. Better than gly. This is the plan as soon as the rain slows for a day or two.

I have a patch of it on my place. Probably a 20x30 foot area. Most of it is big enough to be pulpwood. I need to rent a panda bear for about a week.

To stop the spread a physical barrier in the ground past the roots(like a concrete wall) ......... It has grown to the edge of the house where they cut the grass and has hit the basement concrete wall. My brother does not keep the yard very well maintained around the cane so it has become a jungle there. I guess there is @ a half acre of cane I have to deal with. If anyone is close to Ford City (Colbert County) and wants some cane for fishing poles, get up with me. I am going to clear them out in the next few weeks completely as I find time. Some of the cane is @ 20' high. One can basically choose what size poles they want to get there are so many. Let me know if you want some-I just ask that you get a bunch of em!

If there is even the tiniest crack in that basement concrete wall the bamboo roots will find it and make the crack much larger in short order.

With the current workload my son and I have-40 hour + work week for me at school, tutor for struggling students two days a week, lawn mowing on all rentals and public accounts weekly, a summer school teacher for literacy, cattle, and now hay bailing is about to come full circle, plus son is gone every weekend either announcing a rodeo or working as the bullfighter, plus all the home renovations he has going, there just isn't enough time to take on another venture. I guess I should say adventure!
