Just watched a video that said Michael Wadel was the best turkey hunter in the world, as he was carrying a full body decoy with a real fan. I’ve met Michael on 2 occasions and yes he’s good people but best in the world at turkey hunting?????

Him and culpepper can’t kill em without fanning…every clip I see of em is toting a decoy. I don’t care for really much of any of the tv hunters though I like the primos bunch and david blanton

Some tv hinters are very good - some are not. Many tv hunters hav to hav real other jobs. The big boys are the ones that make $$ (primos, mossy oak, bill Jordan/real tree)

Can’t really prove who the best hunter in the world is. It’s all just a matter of opinion, I wouldn’t get to worked up about it. Michael Waddell seems like a good guy and he is living the dream in my opinion so hats off to him.

Primos is about as authentic as they come. Sure they use decoys to promote their products, but I have never seen them hunt over bait, which can’t be said for 99% of folks in AL now.

It's hunting, so there's a million variables that make it impossible to even come close to determining who the "best" turkey hunter is...

This is not baseball or tournament bass fishing.

Nobody will ever know who the best turkey hunter in the world is because he's keeping his mouth closed.

Most of them tote a full body strutter and a real fan like mentioned above. Primos and Mossy Oak boys are about the only ones that seem to do it old school. Decoys/fans are legal in most places so that's why these guys tote them so that they can get kills. Personally it isnt my style but to each their own. I havent gotten my Dave Smith hen decoy out of my garage in several years. If I cant fool them by just calling and setting up good I dont really care to kill one.

Either way they mostly are on prime land or at an outfitter that has prime land (better dirt than the average hunter). Understandably they are putting on a TV show so they want to have a good success rate, but a lot of this either comes from there fame getting them perks or paying premium for it. Id rather watch the guys on you tube hunting public land like the hunting public. Seems more realistic, but even they basically hunt for a living and have more time to put into than the average joe thats hunting a club as a weekend warrior.

Of the TV hunters, are you considering the YouTube guys?

If so, there’s a couple guys that put out videos that seem to be true killers on tough public land turkeys. They obviously kill them on private land when given the opportunity.

Waddell and Culpeper can kill them. Are they the best I don't know. But I do think you would be hard pressed to find very many that are a whole better at it.

Drop them off in Little Coon or Big Coon , in the woods , without their fan and deks and you'll see what they really are.
