Question… I hunt a property where our gobblers are running in groups and hen groups as large as 4-5 have no gobblers with them. The hens have definitely busted up, but aren’t yet nesting the whole day from what I’m seeing. Very little or no gobbling every morning, even though I know some are in the area. For those who have had success in this scenario, what tactics worked… and what didn’t work?

It’s boring, but figure out where they wanna be and get there before they do. Sit down and be still and wait.

ALDeer physics: for every opinion, there's an equal & opposite opinion

A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.

Patience patience patience. Just stay at ‘em. It only takes a day for things to change in the turkey woods. Just because that is what you are seeing doesn’t mean every bird around is doing the same thing. You will catch the right one in the right mood if you just hang tight.

Sometimes older birds gobble lot later - i hav seen them gobble for first time routinely 45-60 min after first gobble time. Not sure what u are doing - but if u are leaving 30-40 min after first gobble time cause u not hearing anything - may not mean they are not gobbling. I hav made this mistake more than once - leave an area 30 min after first gobble time cause no gobble and there is an older bird there that gobbles later

Also - a very dominant bird can shut the hole bunch up

The get where they want to b is key. If they quiet and all u hav is timber - this can b impossible - but can u follow them in a big clear cut r field if u hav those

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self
We need prayer for our country now more than ever
