Good luck fellas. An absolutely beautiful morning, the kind I dream about turkey hunting on.

Gobblers were across the road this morning. I let out a kee kee and two hens came to the edge of the field. We talked for awhile and a jake showed up half gobbling. Fixing to head to work but still a beautiful great morning.

Woodsman 42 and I heard 6-8 different birds this morning. We setup 150ish yards from 3 that were gobbling hard on the roost but they flew down and went the other way I reckon. We ended up hearing 2-3 across the creek from us that were gobbling their heads off and had 2 a couple hundred yards up the creek the other way. Ended up seeing 1 as he strolled by headed down to the creek. Later in the morning we heard another one on the mountain across the creek somewhere. Got a different plan for tomorrow morning if they are roosted in the same place.

Congrats to all the killas!
My bird has a force field around him. Got on the same side of the pond this morning and he got cranked up about 0600. I was going to another bird and the boss man gobbled right on top of me. I had to hit the ground right then. He was roosted on edge of powerline and I was on other side of powerline about 10 yards inside the woods. I scooted around a tree and he was on the limb 50 yards from me. Put on a show too. Strutted and drummed on the limb. Gobbled his brains out. Quadruple gobbled several times. I made one little tree yelp while still in the dark and not another call. Finally he pitched down 20 yards in front of me but under a lip in the terrain below me. When he popped up, his head was behind some brush and I had to make a split second decision to shoot or not. I did not. Just was too iffy if a shot.
He saw something he didn’t like and immediately ducked back down a putted waking away. I sat there totally dejected. Then he gobbled about 100 yards away so I figured he wasn’t too upset. I got up and tried to circle him and get on a logging road but I was too late. He was already past a little hayfield finger and may have seen me. I figured he was headed to a big pasture where he can see for about 300 yards in all directions. So I headed that way. I was late again. He was already there hammering it. It’s amazing how much ground they can cover when they’re on a mission.
I tried to set up along the woodline about 100 yards away and called a few times. Even tried to gobble at him. He would answer but he wouldn’t budge. I left him gobbling at 815. Gonna be a few days before I can try him again. Maybe 3rd time will be the charm. 🦃
