Hey fellas. I hope this hasn't been asked too many times before.

What's the fastest way to kill a big 80ft pine tree that's 3 to 4ft thick at the base?

I used a gallon of gly so far and it killed the green but its starting to come back green.
I chopped a few chunks out of the trunk and soaked it in 40% gly every week for a month.
Ran out of gly, dug holes around trunk, filled with used motor oil then covered back up and started with another gallon of gly because I don't want motor oil in the dirt. Its in the edge of my vegetable garden or I'd just poison it with used motor oil.

Its leaning towards the neighbors house and will land in his backyard and on his roof. The previous neighbor wanted it cut down on my dime. There were 15 trees in a row. Half of them gonna hit houses. I cut all of them except this one because we ran out of time and needed a boom lift. Now I'm having to wait to cut it in winter when my garden is out the way. So I wanted to kill it because its filling my gutters up, making a mess and blocking sun.

I know if I kill it, its a lot harder to remove. It being brittle and dead, snapping off falling opposite direction. Anyways, I want it dead. I will cross that bridge when I get there.

I'm gonna have $100 invested in gly just trying to kill the damn thing. I should have drilled holes in it and filled them with gly or salt or something but I dont want it to look bad Incase it dies and lands on Tupac's house nextdoor.

All you have to do is take a Chainsaw and "ring it"-----Cut about 2" deep all the way around the base....Trust me....it WILL DIE!!

Easiest way, 6.5 creedmore. Girdling will do it too.

I’ve killed more accidentally than on purpose. Nails, round up, lock on chain. If you’ve done all that it’s dead, it just don’t know it yet.

I've heard JWalker uses a 6.5Creedmor with 143g Hornady Match bullets. Rumor has it it'll blow a volleyball size hole in every 320 pound buck in Alabama, that pine tree won't stand a chance. Chances are if you start popping off rounds, twopack next door will start popping off rounds too. If you're lucky he'll hit the tree a couple times with his Keltec 380ACP, Davis 25ACP or Mak9 and all that'll be left is cutting it up for fire wood.

Be sure to video it too!!!!!

If you kill this tree and it falls from your property onto your neighbor’s home, are you legally liable for repairing the damage? I don’t know the answer to this but I would dang sure find out if I were you.

I don't get it , how is killing it gonna solve the problem? Killing it will only accelerate the problem. Call the man , in this case, the man is Mr. JWalker.

Is there any big pines in Arizona? That may be an option to just move out there and have no more pine tree trees and love.

If a tree is deemed a hazard tree to your neighbors property due to leaning and he has notified you that he is concerned, then if the tree falls on his property and causes damage you will be liable. If you have caused the tree to become a hazard by killing it and then it falls on his property then you would be liable.

Do a search on "hazard trees" on the internet, seems to be a very common issue.

Garalon not sure if spelled correctly. Cut or hatchet it several times get the garalon in the meat of the tree. It’s regulated I think an arborist or a lawn care company, farmer may can get it You won’t need but a coke bottle full. It’s basil oil based and will kill.

Yes. If you create a hazardous condition like this your homeowners insurance may decline to cover the damage.

Call the man and have it removed.

Maybe our residents insurance man Mr. Mayer can answer that.

I paid $400 to have a tree similar cut down and hauled off. You’re 25% there just trying to kill it.

If you got a 80ft pine 3-4ft in diameter cut and hauled for $400, you better save that guys number and make him your tree guy. Thats a really good price. About 1/2 to 1/3 what is normal.
