Got a good friend that has it. He and his family own 1500+ acres and he is scared to death to go out on the land. Deer tick or seed tick gave it to him. He went to a specialist in NC back in February and according to his blood work, he is one of the worst cases documented. He cannot even touch anything that is a mammal. It will immediately start to swell his throat shut, lips swell and so on. I sincerely hurt for him. There is no cure as of right now.

You can get the Sawyer's brand permethrin spray at Walmart, Academy, etc. Some people just buy straight permethrin from Tractor Supply, Co-op, etc and then mix it themselves.

I am particularly prone to get ticks for some reason. I swear I can get a tick in a parking lot. I have been lucky not to get infected so far. I have always been scared of the diseases they carry. I lost a good dog a couple years ago to Ehrlichiosis which is similar to Lyme disease in dogs. I try to spray down with permethrin anytime I go stomping in the woods. Snakes, spiders, bugs, bears, not really scared of anything but ticks and their hated lil Cuzins those DA@$% Chiggers.

Same here ticks and chiggers love me 😕 Several of my Ol' timer buds swear by Garlic, they try and incorporate it in their diets and supplements.

I buy the Sawyer's in the aerosol can at Academy. They used to have a 18oz can now it's a 9oz can. I used probably 2/3 of a 9oz can and did 2 pair of pants, 2 shirts, and 2 hoodies and that gave them a decent wetting. I will probably use the remainder of the can around the second to last week of season just to help carry me through the season. Since using it I have never found a tick on me. Coincidence or not... I dont know but I will keep using it for the $10/yr it cost me.

I've been lucky for as many bites as I've had. Still gots knots that won't go away in spots from ticks

Been getting tick bits all my life but the wrong one finally latched on. Seems like ticks are more prevalent than they were 30 years ago. Spray down when hitting the turkey woods this spring!

Same happened to me last September, diagnosed with RMSF and Lyme

You can overload on B complex vitimins and that helps with chiggers and mosquitos. Make sure your pee smells like the bottle when you open it and you should be good.
