Which modern semi-auto shotgun (20 guage) would you choose to use turkey hunting, and why?

Please explain your reasoning.

I switched from a 12 to 20 gauge semi-auto four years ago. I looked at them all and went with a Franchi Affinity 3. It was half the price of a Benelli M2 and I liked the feel. I put a Vortex Venom red dot on it and and have been very pleased.

Handle a bunch of them and see which one feels best in your hands. They’ll pretty much all work fine these days, go with whatever fits you best

This is exactly the setup I was seeking. Primarily due to the price, the factory drilled and tapped receiver, and the fact that the Franchi Affinity seems to be mostly made of expired Benelli patents/parts (perhaps the M1?). The only difference being the location of the recoil spring in the forearm. There are just so many equal options. I have put my hands on an Affinity 3 and it does seem to fit well.

I would check out a weatherby element turkey edition or get the 26” barrel one…I roll with a franchi and love it but not gonna lie after buying my wife a weatherby, I absolutely love the feel of it

Go on Gunbroker and get you the old-style Browning A5 Magnum. Why?-----Because it's a Classic that you will hardly ever have an issue with it cycling perfectly...

Franchi Affinity comes lh 20ga and can be had with a couple clicks. Cheaper is Hatsan Escort, but I didn't see one in stock online.

I prefer a straight stock O/U.

I didnt realize that they made a lefty in 20. I just looked at it, the barrel is too long for my liking at 26”. Id hate to buy a $800 gun and chop the barrel down to 21”.

Does anyone know it the affinity’s have chrome lined barrels? I’m not savvy on the franchi guns

I have an older youth model 20ga 1100 with the 21” barrel. It’s a dream to carry and shoots a mean pattern with a TruGlo SSX and HW 7s. Only problem is that combo is way to tight for tss and doesn’t shoot true to POA. Now I’m shooting my 870 with tss and factory full. It’s lighter then the 1100 and shoots true to POA. I do carry both in the truck when we go hunting.

I have a full camo H&R Auto Excell with a Carlson XLR Choke that shoots great.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I bought the Retay Masi it’s a really nice shooting gun and fits me well I paired it with a FF3 and it patterns well with the Tru Loc Pinoti choke, I have a buddy with the Weatherby and while it’s pretty nice and roughly half the price I didn’t care for how it felt also he’s had a couple accidental discharges from the trigger being so light it’s fired twice with him pulling the trigger once😬

I have a Franchi Affinity 3 youth, so I could get the shorter barrel. It still fits well, even with me being 6'5". I topped if with a venom and its a killing machine.

Hunters haven exclusive Winchester Sx4 is what I primarily shoot. It’s light and works great.
Bottomland with a 24” barrel and pre drilled. I’ve thought about chopping a few inches off the barrel to make it even better.
