Anyone ever been? Wife, myself and adult daughter are going in June. First time out of country. I’ve watched every YouTube video on St. Lucia. Anyone been and have anything they would like to share on places to eat and things I must do?
Also, did anyone ever buy medical insurance for traveling out of country?
How did you carry your passport when you were out site seeing and hitting the beaches?
Thanks.

If you claim to be a Christian then why do you act like the devil? You will be known by the fruit you bear!

We got married there. It is a beautiful place. Some crazy driving. There is zip lining, snorkeling some good charter fishing/boats. We also did a couple of helicopter rides around the island to get from the north to the south end.

When I’m OCONUS I prefer to keep my passport on me. I have a passport wallet that makes it easier to carry. Of course I’m usually in some sketchy places and not St Lucia. Depending on how much you value your time you may want Global Entry. I travel often so breezing through customs while everyone else is just waiting in line is a big deal. When you got our Global Entry did you get it finalized on a return trip through customs or get a appointment at an airport? We're traveling this year and I've applied but there's no appointments anywhere until October or November so we are going to try and get it on our return trip. Sure wish the TSA part could be used going out of country leg of the trip.

We've been to Jamaica. We were married there and have the most colorful marriage license you have ever seen. We've been to the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, and The Dominican Republic. Apart from the tourist enclaves, they are all pretty sketchy places. We've never felt uncomfortable or fearful. I always kept my passport locked up in the room safe and never had a problem. I always carry some money in my front pocket wallet in small denominations for tipping people. Tipping will get you far, because most resort type people make about $10 a day. So just a $1 tip is pretty good.
Here's the thing to remember...
All of those type places make their money off of Western tourists, so the last thing they want is for some tourist to get f^%ked over and word get around and their economy completely collapse. People like us are their bread and butter so they all want us to be safe, happy and have a good time.
But just like going to Birmingham, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Montgomery, etc... You stay in the nicer areas of town and don't go hang out in the slums or the projects and you will be fine and have a good time.

Sure wish the TSA part could be used going out of country leg of the trip. I finalized before any travel. Really simple and quick. I actually just drove up to Memphis to do it. Recheck the system because they frequently have cancellations. I was able to get an appointment like a week or two out just by checking it every day and searching airports I didn’t mind driving to.

When departing our vacation in Aruba we done the interview in their airport, took a total of 10 minutes and no appointment was necessary.
