Here's the world's largest producer talking about it. They downplay the hazards, but are working on phasing it out. PFAS are coated on almost everything these days, so this is quite an ambitious project. https://pfas.3m.com/homeWhenever you hear someone stay “stakeholders” or “collaborating” you can just go ahead and buy some Vaseline because you’re getting phucked. Just substitute those two words for conspirators.

I guess farm raised catfish, pond raise trout, pond raise crawfish, and basically any freshwater farmed fish would be in the same boat. (No pun intended.) If it bioaccumulaes Maybe has something to do with their respective diets? It’s two fold. Farm raised fish aren’t eating other fish, so bioaccumulation can’t happen. It’s also the water source. Farm raised fish aren’t getting water from rivers with chemical plants on them. Just eating all the poop from other fish in the pond!

Farm raised catfish aren’t bottom feeders if you want to grow an on flavor fish

^^Yes. Even our lil plant in town was (supposedly/allegedly) “duped” by mislabeled as catfish, Basa. They’re a packaging plant, also, so they receive bulk processed fish for individual repackaging. It was a big stink for a bit, in the catfish industry. This was around the time that source labeling started.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

If you’re worried about tilapia eating waste water should’ve see the discharge pipe below McFarland for n Florence. From the standpipe in Sheffield you could look and see the black oily substance flowing into the river. Those fish downstream were sting eating treated sewage or byproducts. Also truck run and distribute processed sewage on farmland thruout Lauderdale county. See those trucks leaving out all the time. Been told by some commercial fishermen that they take their catch to the same place pond raised go to be processed. Don’t know if they keep them separate or not. If you look at labeling most allow for less than pure products. https://www.agdaily.com/livestock/facts-about-black-angus-cattle/1. Details about the beef Beef-eaters find preference in the Black Angus meat for a number of reasons related to genetics. To achieve the Certified Angus Beef brand by U.S. Department of Agriculture graders, beef must be a minimum of 51 percent black in hide, and possess a modest amount of higher-degree of marbling and medium to fine marbling texture.
