Well y’all talked me into it. I went with a 2 blade case trapper with blue g10 scales and it has a small police badge on it. He’s a retired cop so hopefully he will like it.

Case medium stockman with stag handles for 3 blade pocket knife. One blade would be a sod buster
jr with corn cob stag handles.

I like a small to medium pocket knife with round jaws.

Sounds nice. Can't go wrong with a Case Trapper

OK, someone help a dummy out. What are the different uses of the various blades on the 2/3 blade case knives?

single blade locking. two/three blade knives will eventually get you cut. My Son has a knife disease and has some nice ones. His daily carry is a lock back Benchmade.

The spey blade on a trapper is for skinning. I've always been surprised more people don't use them to clean deer. Zips them right open. The clip blade is general purpose.

The spey blade on a stockman is for castrating. The sheepsfoot blade is for cleaning hooves, I think. Not sure about that.

For me the sheep foot is good for stripping romex and cleaning my toenails. Cut up apples with the other one.

I've toted a Case trapper for years. I always try to keep it shaving sharp and usually do. I use the clip point blade 90% of the time, for whatever I need from trimming limbs to cleaning deer/hogs to cutting a steak. I Only use the other blade for cleaning a deer. It's for just in case I haven't had a chance to touch up the main blade, I always have a sharp blade to clean a deer with. And if you know your joints, it's the only tool you need for it.
