The republicans are about to screw around and get Hakeem Jefferies elected speaker of the house.

If they cannot manage a majority vote within the party because they are too divided, just imagine how awful the next POTUS election will be if Trump runs.

They can keep voting for an R to be Speaker, or at some point the Dems can quit enjoying watching them founder like dumbasses and put up a candidate they want. That candidate likely would be a "moderate" and palatable to the Rs in some way, and the Dems would have their person in the seat.

Idiots. The House is the only thing standing between the Senate and WH running roughshod. But Marge, Gaetz and 8-10 others are holding fast. They want the ability to replace the Speaker easier, should he or she not be to their liking once voted in, along with some other procedural things.

I really don’t understand this part of it. I do understand how the democrats thinks they’re winning. Sadly they are.

I’m not fond of many of the republicans yet I also understand they can slow our decent into this destruction. I don’t think we’re going to right the course of this country.

I'm ok with all this.. What this argument is over is Republicans not fighting for the American People.

This is a fight they need to have at this time in the Republican Party... because they don't appear to be very conservative or doing much of anything other than letting the Democrats continue to slowly win. And they certainly aren't convincing Americans to vote for them in fact quite the opposite IMO.

If you expect change this is how you get it. If you want to pencil in more losses for Republicans and thereby America demand they elect McCarthy without a fight.

Unless a few Rs vote for Jeffries he will not win even if all ads vote for him. I hope McCarthy steps aside but I don’t think he will. He’s been maneuvering and pining for this for a long time. I’d much prefer Jordan.
