I agree. These haters are dumb, really dumb. Mad because “somebody didn’t talk to me…”

Y’all sound like a bunch of old women! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Truth is, your interactions with anyone in a retail situation are mainly set by YOUR attitude, YOUR communication, and YOUR knowledge level. Every once in a while, you could have a bad experience anywhere because we are all humans. A smaller probability exists that you will have the best experience ever and the shop will give you it all and more. Give a man who has the same mindset as you the benefit of the doubt and don’t be so weak and entitled.

PS- Randy at the knife counter is the coolest guy in Marks.

Well hey Randy!

They’ll never make everybody happy. Some want their hand held and others want to be left alone. I walk in like I own the bitch and get treated accordingly. 😉

I remember freezing when I would go hunting on a cold morning for years and then saying to myself I wanted some good thermals. This was about 20 years ago and I decided to drive to Mark's just to look. Really didn't want to spend $60, but those things were thicker than the ones I could find anywhere else. I am sure they are a little thinner now, but still are in one piece and I sure wish I had bought 2 pair back then.
I do wish they would open on Sunday's during December. If they have it, you may pay a little more, but you can pick it up and be in and out quick, unlike some of the big box stores with holiday lines. More than likely they will answer the phone when you call and have the item at the counter waiting if you like. Don't expect to walk in and out with a gun on a most Saturday's in November or December. It may be a while! You may have to wait your turn. During the week is probably the best time to buy a gun if you want a little more time. Maybe even ask Mark's son for the best time to get in and out or have it waiting at the counter. I am not a regular, but when I had to return something last year I spoke to his son. No attitude from anyone while I was there. It is nice to see a business stay in the family. I am sure Mark would be proud of his son for stepping up and keeping what he started going.

That’s exactly what I did at Marks. Guess I wasn’t dressed right. They were not busy either. If I ask to see a gun and a couple of “salesmen” roll their eyes, lightly huff, then proceed to reluctantly help me, then I don’t guess my money is green enough. I went to simmons, they were always happy to help. I was in Simmons one day buying items to give away at our men’s wildgame supper at church. The owner was putting up stock and overheard my wife and I talking. He stepped over to me and said to pick out $100 worth of door prize stuff and he’d give it to me. I seriously doubt I would get that anywhere else around B’ham. I paid a little over $100 for all my items and got over $200 worth of door prizes in all.

I just wonder if all the Mark's outdoors homers ever thought if this many people have had a bad experience shopping there.... is this just made up?

No.

I shopped there when I was younger but after they went to all Sitka Dresses and Mountain Khaki's I haven't been in there in a LONG time. Why? I use to go in there for the guns but the gun counter is a shell of what it once was. I'm sure they are still selling a lot of new but used guns are about 20% of what they use to have and there hasn't been the deals they once had since Mark died. That's been a long time.

Great place to get some Popcorn and some Earth Scented cover scent though.

I grew up shopping at Marks and Simmons, like them both. I will say I was in Marks one time and some rich dude in a suit was looking at some type of rifle with a huge scope on it swinging it around the store looking through the scope. He flagged the gun right past my head and a few other people and I raised hell with that stupid rich sob. He said oh well its not loaded! What a damn idiot. Shoulda kicked his ass.
